How Invoiceflint helps roofers

Built for invoicing on the job, not at a desk.

  • Estimates from the driveway

Measure, price, and send the estimate before you leave. The homeowner accepts it online and it becomes the invoice with one tap.

  • Roof photos on the paperwork

Attach photos of damaged areas, rotted decking, and the finished roof to estimates and invoices, and sign them on screen.

  • Know when they open your bid

Homeowners collect several roofing bids. A notification when they open yours tells you when to follow up.

  • Collect the balance on time

Schedule email reminders for the final payment, so you're not chasing homeowners while you're on the next roof.

Billing tips for roofers

Price rotten decking per sheet up front

You can't see the deck until the shingles come off. Put a per-sheet price for replacement decking on the estimate, so extra sheets are already agreed and simply become a quantity on the invoice.

Take a deposit before ordering materials

Shingles are ordered for the job and can't always go back. Invoice a deposit when the estimate is accepted — and check local rules, because some states limit deposits on home improvement work.

Match insurance jobs to the adjuster's scope

For storm damage, the homeowner's insurer will usually compare your invoice with the scope it approved. Use the same line items and attach before-and-after photos to avoid delays in the payout.

Invoicing questions from roofers

What should a roofing invoice include?

A roofing invoice should include your business, license, and insurance details where required, the property address, the roof size in squares, materials by brand and type, tear-off, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, decking replacement, disposal and permit fees, the deposit received, the balance due, and warranty terms.

How do roofers charge for replacing rotted decking?

Most roofers include a per-sheet price for replacement decking in the estimate, because the condition of the deck isn't known until the old roof is removed. The final invoice then shows how many sheets were actually replaced.

How much deposit should a roofer ask for?

Deposits of 10% to 50% are common, often enough to cover materials. Some states cap deposits on home improvement contracts — California, for example, limits them to 10% of the contract price or $1,000, whichever is less — so check the rules where you work.

Can I attach photos to a roofing invoice?

Yes. With Invoiceflint Pro you can attach photos to estimates and invoices — useful for showing storm damage, rotted decking, or the completed job.
